Jeff Poppen, also known as the Barefoot Farmer, is the owner and operator of Long Hungry Creek Farm
in Red Boiling Springs. It is one of the oldest and largest organic farms in Tennessee. If you are a
follower of NPT’s Volunteer Gardener program, you will recognize his voice, bare feet and beard! Jeff is a
market gardener who has been supplying fresh produce to many loyal CSA (Consumer Supported
Agriculture) customers in Nashville for 20+ years. Come join us as Jeff shares his extensive training in
both organic and biodynamic methods of farming in a question and answer session on the grounds of
Mansker’s Fort. Jeff will have copies of his 2 books available for purchase and autographing after the
lecture.
