Food Preservation Workshop with Sandor Katz

Don’t miss Sandor Katz, the fermentation guru himself, with Jeff Poppen, the Barefoot Farmer, for a full day of fermentation.

Pick your vegetables as you tour one of the largest and oldest organic farms in TN, then make your fermented project under the direction and supervision of Katz and Poppen. Take it home and enjoy the good food and knowlege to use for the rest of your eating life!

10am: Farm Tour, pick your own vegetables
12pm: Workshop with Sandor Katz, then make your own kimchi to take home!

The farm is located on Heady Ridge Road in Red Boiling Springs, TN.
Please use the following directions:

Once you are on Heady Ridge Road, you will pass a landfill on your left. Go down the big hill that curves around to the left through open pastures. Once you pass into a tree line, there will be a barn on the top of the hill to your right with solar panels on it. Jeff’s driveway is the one at the bottom of that hill on the right.

If you go too far there will be a driveway on your left that is the entrance to our farm.

If you get to a small cement bridge with graffiti on it you have gone way too far.

Please bring:
-Cutting boards
-Knives
-Crocks or jars to put fermented vegetables in
-Anything we are not going to have on the farm that you want in your kimchi (i.e. garlic, tumeric, ginger, etc.)
